BlendInGN: Vertical Student Housing

Project idea

BlendInGn (Blend in Green) is an approach to fostering socialism in youngsters by blending individuals with the surrounding nature via a central green space to help them 'heal' and cope with the ups and downs of their daily lives.

Project description

This project requires the design of a vertical student’s accommodation in Seri Iskandar that is safe, secure and also offers better facilities for study. This accommodation is owned by a private company that rents different types of rooms to students. Target group: students of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Sri Iskandar, and Universiti Teknologi Petronas.

Technical information

The construction used for this project is the IBS system for the housing units; the main materials are precast concrete and red bricks for thermal comfort as Malaysia is a tropical regionalism.
