Project idea

For my Architecture project, I originally felt the need to incorporate some distinctly Croatian features of Croatian Architecture including rough stony exteriors, as well as the classic red tile roofing seen in Dubrovnik. However, as I went deeper into the project, I felt the need for something more and decided to incorporate the Greek style of white walls and wood accents, as well as bougainvillea plants to add more pops of color and make the villas feel more like a tropical resort rather than a historical city. Unfortunately, both styles have a distinctly boxy form, and this can find me for a while until I eventually started trying to add curvy elements to the designs to break apart the monotony of straight lines and boxes. Overall, I would consider my project a fusion between Greek and Croatian architecture that creates a tropical island feel. The goal of these villa designs is to create an atmosphere inside similar to a small apartment as well as a villa, and for this reason, I included a small kitchenette in my design to allow guests to make food for themselves if they wish.

Technical information
