Project idea

Idea of the project is to remain the villa as simple as possible in order for remaning the focus over the ocean and the landscape.

Project description

The project combines several architecture aspects that landscape architecture, building energy information, abstractness, daylight design, and structural design. To begin with landscape;from the point of coastal part it was calm and the hilly region was wild.To combine this natural view over the landscape, from the entrance till the plot part of the land cleaned out by the wild vegetations but bigger rocks and stones still remained as natural sculptures. For the building energy;as it was asked to design dalmatian villa,in the design white colour prefered that will also decrease the cooling cost, over, the roof plane gravel bed was choosen with the same idea. Also that area left for possible uv panel placement.Wooden claddings were positioned only a part of the wall to emmit the daylight as well. From the corner opening that crosses other 3 entrance by the ocean side would work as cross ventilation.3 pieces of wind turbine positioned over the building pad since about this site there would be good amount of wind power generated.Abstract architecture design;the design followed the idea by using less element in interior like without any pantry(which I thought cleaning service would be provided by the hotel)and any toielt in the first floor to focus on mainly visuality, calmness and extensive walkabilty in interior place.Daylight design;an extensive opening in the entrace for the diffuse light most of the day.Corner opening with double skin tree pattern that remains poetic shadow in the interior as well as prevent overheating but opening was needed for sufficient daylight.Skylight window over the entrace for washing the vegetations over the wall and staircase pattern that would remain a part of day for artistic approach as well as trying to create astonishing view over the entrance.Remaining opennings for having unintrupted ocean view.Lastly, the pool over the entrance created for calmness and it tied with the waterfall wall for decreasing the noise and trees around positioned to prevent overheating but at the same time for the visuality by the interior.

Technical information

In the project the design was selected to construct out of the cast steel for having less pillars in the interior as well as to position the 2nd floor for as shading with girder beam overhanging method about 3m.The openings without too many mullion construction, that would be costy but if it produced too many numbers,I guess the price would be lower.Pile construction was surronded with timber with gypsum wall board cladding.Width of the wall about 30cm in everywhere. The maximum span for the pillars about 12m that holds two bedroom.Height of the doors are 210cm.Floor finish level was halved and reduced about 1m for the parapet wall over the roof.So floor height is 3.75m.There is no insulation needed in this type of design and any ventilated cladding system. However for cooling purpose thermal insulation can be covered.Roof design with semi-trafficed with gravel base.
