Our goal is to create a space to provide a sense of security for children, especially child labour. Creating an opportunity for the experience of childhood and activities that are appropriate to their age, education, and learning, which these children have left behind, and interacting with other children of the same age.
Child labour refers to the employment of children in any work that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and that is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), 250 million children aged between 5 and 14 years old deprived of childhood every year.
In Iran, the number of children working for various reasons is increasing, but there are no accurate statistics on child labour. More than 20,000 child laborers have been confirmed in Tehran.
Child labour in extremely unfavorable conditions in terms of nutrition, health and dangerous and acute work. These children could easily be playing into the hands of criminals, as well as lack of utilization of science and technology education, competitiveness with other children in creating a healthy lifestyle for these children take away more and more.
In general, these children are more vulnerable than other children of the same age due to their inadequate emotional status and special conditions of life, because they have a sensitive and emotional spirit; therefore neglecting these children has led to the institutionalization of hidden anger in their subconscious, In adulthood, it causes many abnormalities in society.
Our goal is to create a space to provide a sense of security for children, especially child labour. Creating an opportunity for the experience of childhood and activities that are appropriate to their age, education, and learning, which these children have left behind, and interacting with other children of the same age.
We hope to provide education and wellbeing support for vulnerable children living in poverty and decrease the statistics related to child labour rate and help them to have education and better conditions.
This project’s building is in the ancient palace, Negarestan palace, and this place nowadays is open to the public. The project stems from one main idea of renovating an unused place to a place where children (even labour children) can have an interaction without considering their social class in addition to educating, playing and exploring.
