Li Ziba, with its unique light rail through the building is a major feature of the building, but in fact he is a residential building that is very disruptive to the lives of the local people.
I borrowed the technology of AI to inspire my design for the renovation.
I borrowed the technology of AI to inspire my design transformation.
As I explored the city, I took several photographs of Chongqing's unique mountainous terrain and transposed them to get the direction of my subsequent architectural design. After my first calculations, I seemed unsatisfied with the initial results given to me by stylegan, and I took the results into interpolation again, allowing two different images to change, from which I gained inspiration for my architectural design. I gave the result as a material to the cube and then cut it according to the depth of the picture to get a cube with a very different style.
Here I was faced with the first question, whether AI can sway people's thoughts or not, and how people should not be controlled by AI. So in my design, I deliberately went for the next design using traditional methods of design representation, such as the drawing of house plans, floor plans and so on. I tried to resist the fear of being controlled.
I cut the cube into sections and used a plan finder to create the house plans, find the right mix of house types, combine modules, shape the design, integrate the structure and get my final architectural result.
In the design, I have broken up the narrow architectural mix of the original theatre building to give the building back access to sunlight. The residents also have more access to fresh air. There is no shortage of communal areas in this building, with large communal green areas, wide spaces for traffic and fully permeable floors bringing the residents closer together. Of course, to protect the privacy of the residents, there are private gardens around each house where they can grow plants and flowers to their liking, as well as beautify the common spaces where the residents get plenty of sunshine and pleasure. At the same time, I have not neglected the public attributes of Li Ziba, which cannot be ignored as an iconic site in Chongqing, and I have hollowed out the buildings, breaking up the walls beneath the residential buildings to allow the light rail to pass through the buildings to enhance the ornamental attributes more. The new section also has an observation deck to better appreciate the tourism features of Li Ziba itself, as well as standing in a book to enjoy the river views of Chongqing.
