This project is a critical research regarding social hierarchy and capital monopoly. It constructs a non-existing but super-real city.
This project is designed based on the concept of the current world dimensions to build a non-existing but super-real city. This vast vertical city includes all social classes of the world we are living now, from the bottom class to the elite class, and beyond that, it also includes a new breed of life form - the four-dimensional creature, which does not exist in our current world.
I referred to the theoretical framework relating to human class and behavior discussed in the book, The Human Condition, by Hannah Arendt, and translated the terms into spatial language. The logic behind the spatial construction is depicted through the story of a worker living at the bottom of the society but constantly refreshing his self-cognition in the process of trespassing the class barriers. It reveals the inevitability of social classification and capital monopoly as well as the potential problems brought by hierarchy.
