Design of the embassy complex is made up of the main mass of the ‘L’ shape, which is devided by tha glass main entrance, which is situated to the street axis connecting the street along my our parcel and the main street to airport and city center.
This building includes visa and consular department and administration in the south part of the house. On the north-east corner is placed representative office of the embassy and the west part of the house includes ambassador’s house and the apartment building for employees. In addition, there is a representativ garden with gazebo an private garden with muntifunctional playground. Outside the area itself, there is a residential building for the local employees on the south-west corner of the property.
Since the beginning of designing, I have made a preliminary calculation of the energy demand of a sample room, namely a room of dimension 3 x 5 m and a height of 2.8 m, when I compared the types of walls and roof structures to evaluate if in these climatic conditions make sense to use thermal insulation. I compared the reinforced concrete 300 mm thick wall without thermal insulation and with thermal insulation in various combinations with insulated and non-insulated roof structure. The preliminary calculation was performed in the educational version DIAL +. By this calculation I found out that the most advantageous combination is non-insulated reinforced concrete wall with insulated roof structure. In the case of non-thermal insulation of the roof structure, the energy demand increases to about eight times. The final assessment of the energy demand of the building was made in the educational version of the ENERGETIKA software by DEK.
Due to the calculated annual energy demand, which has generated 57,919 kWh / m²a, and the gain of an object from photovoltaics that produces 81,760 kWh / m²a, solar energy can be used to solve the needs of the building. It should be noted, however, that in the summer months due to cloudiness and large amounts of rainfall there is a decrease in solar gains.
Excessive energy will be stored in the battery storage during sunny months.
