Project idea

We designed a camp along a river. The plot for our project was a agricultural field near a village Hevlín in South Moravia. The camp is designed for tourists, who like sport and rellax. Near camp is cycleline and river good for rowing.
Inspiration for our project was river confluence. We decided to remade the landscape, scale down a rivers map and put it on this area. Little rivers has been created, which perform a footpath. Each path symbolize one river from confluence of South Moravia. We've devided the landscape by the rivers into segments, imaginary islands, where the tourists can build the tents.
When we were thinking about the architecture of camp, we were attacked by motif of stones from river. So we drew the sketches and designed the buildings, which are imitating the stones.

Project description

Three buildings looks like a stones, which show the program of the camp. The highest building is two-storey. In the first floor is reception and the second floor is designed as snack bar. The snack bar is operated by staff. This place is used for rellaxing with beautiful view of the camp.
Middle building is for employees and it is used as tool storage for care of plot. There is private kitchen and toilets.
The third object is washroom. It is separated for men and women by the wall. Both parts have showers, toilets and washbasins.

Technical information

Construction of buidings is designed from natural material. The material is wooden CLT panels = cross laminated timber. The panels are 60mm thick.
Panels will be conected by wooden trapezoids like tongue and groove princip.
Land area is 4536m².
The building of reception and snack bar is 10m high. Floor area of reception is 17m² and snack bar is 27m². Second object - workroom is 4127m². And the washroom is 69m².
