The idea of this project is to aware people of E-waste crisis by achieving SDGs goals through design: Health, Recycling, And the Economy
3- Good health and well-being: 3.9. reduce the number of deaths and illnesses from hazardous chemicals and air, water, and soil pollution and
contamination ( - Workshop - collecting and sorting e-waste zone: Both activities serve the idea of recycling and upcycling materials, and
get rid of e-waste in a proper way to reduce the number of chemicals
released to water, soil, and air)
12- Responsible Consumption and production: 12.4. environmentally sound management of chemicals and all wastes throughout their life cycle, and reduce their
release to air, water, and soil, to minimize their adverse impacts on human health and the environment ( - Organic, upcycled, and recycled materials: By up-cycling E-waste materials by using them in design, and using organic and eco-friendly materials. - Natural lighting- LED
Lighting: By depending on and utilizing natural light all day, and using energy-saving artificial lighting at night)
8- decant work and economic growth: Support productive activities, decent jobs creation, creativity, and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro, small, and medium-size enterprises ( - Conference Zone: In the conference center zone, I am providing a chance to startups to meet sponsors to support decent jobs creation, and support creativity and innovation)
The E-waste HUB is a place where people can explore and learn about E-waste. The building includes many activities to aware people of the e-waste crisis and provides a zone in the building for visitors to place their e-waste and get rid adequately of them, and which is considered to be a practical step toward the e-waste case, in addition to workshops The E-waste HUB includes exhibitions displaying artworks and products inspired and made from recycled and upcycled materials
The construction system of the building is "Shear Walls", which walls are made of concrete that stands on columns that exist underground, and that is the reason why there are no columns cleared on the plans, and concrete hatch for walls cleared in sections.
The chosen building to apply the project on is the Nancy and Rich kinder building in Houston, Texas. The main reason for choosing this building is the glass tube construction surrounding the building, which creates a cool jacket around it. The cool jacket helps utilize natural light and wind to minimize the amount of energy used in the building
