Project idea

Our Capital Beirut, the heart of Lebanon, is a city that has made history!
August 4th 2020 was the day that shattered the lives of Lebanese people , one of the biggest explosions in the history of the world had occurred , and its effects are still expanding to this current day. The project’s main idea is to revive the port and the city.
Today, an urban crack exists resulting in a lack of public space, a discontinuity of the promenade and a lack of green space. The project will be dedicated to this city as a continuity of the city in the port by an emblematic passage, the urban artery of the project that will open, expand and revitalize. The port will be an intersection between horizontality in translation and verticality inspired by the Roman Cardo Decumanus found in the city center thus creating corridors towards the sea.

Project description

This project consist of the following parts; The Passenger Terminal,
The Conventional Cargo Zone ( IC Parking and Warehouse ), The Silo Building, The Empty container zone, The Port administration, The Container Terminal, The Free Zone and the experimental park with The Souk will spread throughout the project through modules according to the framework of the project encouraging local trade, production and international investors. In addition, The memorial will work on the soul of the citizen and the spirit of the city by ensuring diverse visitors experiences for its healing of the dramas monitored, including the management of Disaster and community healing center by commemorating the 4 august martyrs who are still between us. For the existing Silo Building, a rehabilitation will be proposed by transforming this volume of concrete that has saved a city and lives into a Man who will save a country from corruption and give prosperity to politics in Lebanon: A political Communication center. And this can only be done through a space that prepares young people and reconciles the people with its government. In this project, the people are above the government, watching it, monitoring it and watching over it. The Project is a Healing journey!

Technical information

A functional network connects all public spaces in an attractive and inviting way with a smooth transition between the public and the Smart Port. The Container Terminal, Conventional Cargo Zone and the New Silo Building work on automated system using metallic structure.
