Project idea

THE BUILDING IS LOCATED ON THE SHORES OF SARIÇAY, WHICH PLAYED AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATION IN THE ÇANAKKALE WAR. THE PROJECT WAS CREATED BY TAKING AS A REFERENCE FROM THE EXCURSION ROUTE WHERE THE IMPORTANT TOURISM AND HISTORICAL BUILDINGS OF THE CITY ARE LOCATED. WHEN THE PROBLEMS IN THE ENVIRONMENT WERE EXAMINED, THE LACK OF RECREATION AREAS IN THE REGION WAS OBSERVED. THEREFORE, TOGETHER WITH THE STRUCTURE, THE GREEN AREAS AND SQUARES THAT CONTINUE ON AND AROUND THE LAND HAVE BEEN DESIGNED. SUSTAINABLE RANGES WERE CREATED IN THE PROJECT AREA BY BEING INSPIRED BY SARIÇAY, WHICH FORMS AN INTERVAL BETWEEN THE TWO PIECES OF LAND. A SUSTAINABLE GREEN AREA WAS CREATED BY INCLUDING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS FISHING AND AGRICULTURE.

Project description

THE PROJECT STRUCTURE CONSISTS OF THE MONUMENT MUSEUM AND THE COMPLEX STRUCTURES CONNECTED TO THIS MUSEUM. THE MUSEUM, WHICH IS LOCATED IN THE BUILDING, HAS BEEN ARRANGED UNDER THE GROUND TO EXPLAIN THE DARK AND BLOODY FACE OF THE WAR AND ITS PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS, AND A SENSE OF FREEDOM HAS BEEN PREPARED BY TAKING LIGHT FROM ONE DIRECTION. THERE IS A RESEARCH CENTER AND EXHIBITION HALLS DESIGNED IN RELATION TO THE MUSEUM. IN THE PROJECT, THERE IS A STREET THAT COMBINES THE MUSEUM AND THE HOTEL PART AND THERE ARE SOCIAL SPACES, CAFES AND SHOPPING AREAS ON THIS STREET.

Technical information

THE BUILDING IS DESIGNED AS REINFORCED CONCRETE AND HAS AN EMBLAZONED FAÇADE WITH ALUMINUM SYSTEMS. IN THE MUSEUM AND HOTEL SECTIONS, INTERIOR GARDENS HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED DUE TO THE NEED FOR LIGHT AND THE NEED FOR OPEN SPACE. THE FORM, WHICH RISES FROM THE MUSEUM PART TO THE HOTEL PART, AIMS TO PROTECT FROM THE NORTHERN WINDS THAT AFFECT THE REGION.
