Space medicine research center focuses on the health and well-being of astronauts in low-Earth-orbit and space. This scope of research will have great importance to the success of future space missions, especially those of longer
Its goal is to maintain human health and performance in space, in aviation, and on Earth. Enabling integrative life science research at the highest level.
Our bodies have been shaped over thousands of years by Earth’s gravity. Remove or reduce that gravity and we know it has detrimental effects on the body, for example, affecting the cardiovascular system by decreasing heart size and blood volume, diminishing bone density and muscle mass, impairing the vestibular system function, and reducing the ability of the immune system.
These can have undesirable health consequences for the astronauts themselves, both in space and upon return to Earth’s gravity, and can also lead to operational difficulties for any mission. Therefore, continued research is vital for the health and well-being of space travelers, whether on short-or long-term missions and equally for space tourists, as the space tourism industry is launched.
The concept of this project begins with space time fabric as it is form of gravity, and gravity is the main element that affect humans body.
This project consists of 3 main parts:
1- space medicine research center zone which consists of medical laps, astronomy labs, and educational facilities
2- entertainment zone which aims to entertain the visitors and educate them with space medical facilities like space museum planetarium, observation and simulation rooms
3- rehabilitation zone near the wellness park as an area for astronauts to get well and get their life back after this journey as well as an accommodation area for the participants of the program
The construction of this building is mainly using shell structure, frames, and trusses for the structure system itself. and for the materials, it was used environmentally friendly materials such as glass fiber green reinforced concrete panels, and low e solar glass for generating energy as well as different used techniques using algorithmic programs (like Rhino+grasshopper)
