Project idea

WAR BRINGS RESISTANCE, AND THIS DESIGN HAS ADOPTED THE ANALOGY OF THE BASTION (DEFENSE) AS A SYMBOL OF RESISTANCE. THE DESIGNATED AXIS OF RESISTANCE EXTENDS IN THE DIRECTION OF THE HAMIDIYE BASTION TO THE SOUTH, STARTING FROM THE OLDEST HISTORICAL FABRIC OF THE CITY TO THE NORTH AND ESPECIALLY FROM THE ÇIMENLIK CASTLE (1460S), THE OLDEST STRUCTURE IN THIS TEXTURE. DESIGNED ON AXLE
EACH OF THE THREE SQUARE BASES IS THE NARROWEST OF THE DARDANELLES
WITH DIFFERENT CROSS SECTIONS TO THE HISTORICAL VALUES LOCATED ON THE SPOT
(FROM DIFFERENT ELEVATIONS INDOORS AND FROM DIFFERENT SIZED CREVICES OUTDOORS).
THESE REFERENCES: KILITBAHIR CASTLE (1400S),
ÇIMENLIK CASTLE (1460S), NAMAZGAH BASTION AND
RUMELI-HAMIDIYE BASTION (1800S),HAMIDIYE
THE MONUMENT TO THE MARTYRS (1892) AND ITS BASE (1960).

Project description

Çanakkale War Museum. The project, which is interpreted as war and resistance, has also been identified as an axis of resistance. The axis of resistance is designed as a bridge that will connect the two sides of the Dardanelles Strait to each other. The bridge has been placed in line with Çimenlik Castle and Hamidiye Bastion. After that, the bases were designed with square masses to fit the logic of the war. Each square mass is broken down by roads in its own way and connected to the axis of resistance again. In this way, the resistance in the Dardanelles War is tried to be explained. The surfaces of the bastions facing the sea are made of chamferboard and the bastions are placed with reference to important places such as the Martyrdom Monument and Kilitbahir located opposite. The roofs of the bases are sloping towards the city elevation and are designed as a green roof. Thus, it has been interpreted as camouflaging the masses in tabian logic.

Technical information

This is a concept project. More emphasis has been placed on design than technique in the project.
