The idea of the project was to create a hospital to treat heart patients both locally and globally in Nexus Medical City in Egypt's new capital.
The project was located in the heart of the medical city and aimed to 'coalesce' or join between healing through medicine and healing through design.
The project consists of a main reception zone, a physical therapy zone, outpatient clinics, an emergency ward, a surgical ward, a delivery ward, inpatient wards, service zones and outdoor treatment areas.
The building was made using materials either from the local environment such as lime stone in the landscape or to help reduce the building's environmental impact such as precast concrete, low albedo materials and low e glass to improve user comfort as well. All plants selected in the landscape are either local or can easily adapt to the surrounding climate.
