Project idea

In response to this contest and by addressing the conceptual ideas, since we cannot erase something that happens, much more a blast and certainly a building block cannot erase something attached to the psyche of people, the attempt was to address the problem holistically and lean on more of spaces of upliftment, intellectual stimulation for the search for truth, as it is more necessary than ever to shred the old ways of power domination and greed, unfortunately, the Lebanese are suffering harsh repercussions of this corrupt system. The slogan of the project is represented by curved lines that reflect the flow of water representing the flow of paradoxes and polarity, good and evil, life and death and above all represents healing and cleansing.

Project description

In this project, the focus is primarily on two themes that in turn serve a broader purpose of reminding people of their self-governance and calling for a more compassionate vision. The first theme can be described by the following keywords: research, awareness, triggering, stimulation, training, brainstorming, and the second theme is aimed at upliftment and unity. Hence spaces like amphitheater, exhibitions, workshops, open spaces that can be used for demonstrations and protests, trainings and recreational programs.

Technical information

Taking into consideration the environmental effect of sea level rise, the "retreat" technique is used to assess future vulnerabilities. A dismantling architecture using primarily prefabricated/temporary systems and incorporating steel framing systems. For sustainable port energy and clearer shipping, renewable energy, waste reduction and recovery plan and dredging options must be integrated, in addition to ongoing learning and port education (training offices).
