Project idea

The idea of the project was to create a space where the family that I choose could feel great, where they can enjoy their passions and be confortable and also a space that refelcts their personalities.

Project description

The proposed single-family home is designed for a young family where the husband is a well-known archaeologist, passionate about history and ancient cultures and wife is painted. The main hobbies of the family are: reading, painting, documentary watching, cooking, traveling and collecting of objects in the places visited.
Their home is located in a hilly area, visually oriented to nature, but also to the city.
Due to the passion of the owners for history and archeology, the concept of planning starts from a study on the reintegration of the elements that make up the primitive home and the first forms of habitation.
This concept was theorized by the architect Gottfried Semper who decomposed this type of space into four main elements, namely the socket, the fabric, the sash or the roof structure and the place where the fire was made, it was considered the heart of the home where people practiced most of their activities.
In the design, we have reinterpreted the socket by using floor-to-floor materials. The fabric was re-interpreted by the use of glass hollows and the creation of scaffolds in the walls, which have the role of exposing the collection of objects, paintings and books. Bone is interpreted through the ceiling, it is treated in a minimalist way to highlight exposed objects.
The heart of the space is represented by the area dedicated to the exhibition of objects, within this area is placed the fireplace. The zones dedicated to the exposure of objects are divided by the horn and the fireplace, communicating at the level of the floor through a raised socket being used as a state place and exposure of objects.
Interpretation of the concept generates a minimalist and cold space, so to give the life space I used (natural wood accents) natural wood in the fireplace, the access ladder, the floor in the dining room, in the space dedicated to the painting, the kitchen and some furniture items.
The main area of the arrangement is represented by the exposure area where the livig is located with state places around the fireplace, it subordinates the space intended for the picture with common circulation. The area of the day is characterized by flexibility, it can be opened outwards through the glazed surfaces as well as to the sparkling area of the fireplace through state places. The staircase is an important element in the arrangement, detailing the main access area and the kitchen. The staircase also provides access to the sock where an independent space for video projections is arranged. The dining area creates a secondary core with the kitchen being in visual connection with the main space.

Technical information

As far as the details of the arrangement are concerned, they are based on modern furniture, natural textures and a color-oriented, non-colored chroma with wood accents. The exposed objects are highlighted by color and texture, thus creating a space with personality and uniqueness.
