A renovation project of a 278 sqm condominium unit at Yong An Park, Singapore. The project aims to create a comfortable, lively interior that meets the client’s requirements. The space includes 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, a foyer, an open area for the living room, dining room and kitchen, a home office, a storage room and a laundry area.
“Golden Hour” refers to the first and last hour of sunlight. Sunrise means the beginning of life, with the sun representing health, power, energy and joy. Sunsets marks the end of the day; a period of rest, renewal and self-reflection. Together, it reminds people of the cycle of nature, therefore the name "Golden Hour" is given to the project, inspired by togetherness, warmth and harmony of families. The design aims to promote the importance of embracing family quality time, because the endings to everything are unpredictable. The harmony in the colour combination of neutrals with contrasting yellow and green is purposely chosen to represent the harmony in a family.
The living room is the heart of the home; a gathering space and an area for relaxing and socialisation. As the main area of the house, the space is designed to be more attractive and have eye-catching elements. Wood is chosen as the general material of the home both for its sustainability and for a more natural look. Complementary colours bright yellow and calming green gives a unique, cheerful look, with added warmth from the wood's natural brown colour. Two different designs of the sofa and combined into a single L-shaped lounge. A glass sliding door is placed for access to balcony.
