I tried to answer the question what ‘region’ and ‘regional’ mean for architectural cultures past and present, and will speculate on the different forms and formulations they might take in the future.
THE TERM "REGION" IS NOT JUST A GEOGRAPHICAL AREA, PART OF A COUNTRY OR THE WORLD, HAVING CERTAIN CHARACTERISTICS. THE REGION IS ALSO A NATURAL HERITAGE, AND IN SOME PLACES WE REALLY "FEEL" IT.
KRASNODAR KRAI IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULATED REGIONS OF RUSSIA, IT IS HOME TO REPRESENTATIVES OF MORE THAN 100 NATIONALITIES. BUT IN ADDITION TO ETHNIC DIVERSITY, THERE IS A VARIETY OF NATURAL OBJECTS AND LANDSCAPES. I CHOSE A REAL TERRITORY NEARBY PSEMEN VILLAGE, LOCATED AT THE STAGE OF VARIOUS ECOSYSTEMS. MY GOAL WAS TO TRANSFORM A REGIONAL ARTIFACT INTO AN ARCHITECTURAL OBJECT. THEREFORE, WHICH PART OF THE HOUSE IS A SYMBOL OF NATURAL FORMS.
ANOTHER FEATURE OF THE HOUSE IS THE RHYTHM OF WINDOWS, THE DIMENSIONS OF WHICH CORRESPOND TO THE FIBONACCI SEQUENCE. THE DIVISION INTO SYMMETRICAL PARTS, IN WHICH GOLDEN PROPORTIONS ARE OBSERVED, IS PRESENT TO ALL LIVING THINGS ON OUR PLANET AND BEYOND.
I mostly used conseptual art to present my project. Drawings were made in Revit, interior renders- in Lumion 11, other graffic effects- in Adobe Photoshop
