The idea behind the project was to celebrate the distinction between the private port and the public residential district by creating a platform to allow views into this previously hidden heart of Beirut. This aims to inspire clarity in the methods of handling of cargo whilst honouring those who lost their lives as a result.
The project was inspired by the Inspireli competition with correspondence from the team and the university of central Lancashire. The project aims to rejuvenate the port district in the philosophy of modernism, bringing automation and people together by celebrating the dynamics of the maritime experience.
The technical logistics of the project aim to reconstruct the port with expansion in mind. The separation between public and private would be done through the promenade of progress.
