Project idea

Parkview Eclat is a condominium located at 138 Grange Road in District 10. Parkview Eclat offers residents a lifestyle of luxury and comfort and is located in the river valley neighbourhood. The residence reflects a high level of privacy and exclusivity, with elegantly landscaped gardens.

The residence will be designed for a family consisting of two-career couples, a four years old daughter, 14 years old sons, and a disabled grandmother. The vital requirement is that the unit be barrier-free for a wheelchair user to move around easily. Moreover, an open plan kitchen is required, with no separated wet and dry kitchen. The unit must consist of one master bedroom, one master bathroom, three regular bedrooms, two regular bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, working area, powder room, laundry room, and maid room.

Project description

The residents can directly watch the sunset. Therefore, the concept is about sunset, symbolising the life cycle, where it is time to end the day and take a break. Even though people are always drawn to the sunset, it indicates the completion of the journey, which is nature's way of reminding humanity of good and evil. Which is also one of the journeys that all families can experience. Therefore the ups and downs of the family will give them the strength to grow and develop to become a firm family.

In Chinese culture, sunset is represented yin and yang, which is the concept of dualism to symbolise balance. Moreover, the meaning of Europe is to represent closing the door on a particular stage of life for something new or even the end of life. Therefore, yin and yang will be used for the main concept. Then will be developed with the inclusion of the theory of European culture. This concept will be applied to the floor plan and the colour scheme of each room.

Technical information

The living room and dining room were combined because both areas are the house's focal point. When the curved door is open, it will indirectly connect with the kitchen. This purpose is to increase the family time by Combining the family room, dining room, and kitchen means integrating these three centres into one. While the family relaxes in the living room, others can prepare the meals without being isolated. The curved door is built for the family to have more privacy when there is a guest, so they can close the curved door if they need more privacy.
