CULTURAL CENTER IN BETWEEN

Project idea

The project area is located in Fatih, İstanbul between hospital-education and residential use.The project area is located between two axes that are in hierarchical relationship.


In the project, a relationship was established between these axes and a street connection was created. This passage has been turned into a courtyard and at the same time it has been turned into an activity area. The cultural center includes an auditorium, library and exhibition space. At the same time, creative activity spaces were created with painting, music, computer atelier.

Project description

The staircase connecting the upper floor of the building to the lower floor also formed a street axis.
The upper level of the building that connects with the street was used as a green roof.
Courtyard which is located on the ground floor, used as a both green and activity area.

Technical information

Mass is placed on land with a slope of 11 meters.
With the courtyard, the spaces are provided with light.
