Tuker Bazar in Sylhet, is a termination area for some specific zone of Sylhet and other region. There is a by-pass road which connects Tuker bazar area with Sylhet- Dhaka national highway road. Sylhet is famous for various tourist spaces of Bangladesh. And in next upcoming years, when the infrastructure becomes more strong, Tuker Bazar can be a turning point for tourists. If we use that site to travel to those spots it becomes more easier to travel and it is also a best place for accommodation of tourist as it is the middle point of many tourist spot's connection. As it is considered as a exurb zone, we tried to imply Tourism based business district in that site as most of the current dwellers of the site are business man. Overall , exurb tourism was the main focus in the whole project.
The proposed tourist park will increase the facilities for the tourist and the on-site tourism with local traditional product based business, it will become a tourist based business hub for the local people. Overall, the river beside the site, the bazar in between the site everything will get a better look after the envision which will be also a place for enjoyment and gathering not only for the tourists but also for the local people. we tried to respect the existing site and tried to revitalizing it in the most of the phases. We tried to create more public spaces, introducing local products to the tourists in an innovative way through the market pavilion in the tourist park. Overall, we tried to treat an exurb site by introducing tourism in a new way and also included tourism business district for the betterment of the local people.
A tourist park is proposed by considering all the functions where traditional market pavilion plays a key role to attract the tourist. We have provided non motorized vehicle lane where regular traditional Bengali vehicle 'rickshaw' will be used as a cart for the tourist. We provided a new community for the people whom we are replacing from our proposed site. Many over bridges are introduced to connect two separate neighbour hood and each bridged create a community space with some artwork on the walls, street markets, food kiosk overall a large open space for the local's gatherings.
