Rejuvenating Public Realm

Project idea

To relook and rejuvenate dead voids with the intention to elevate the lost importance of the old memorial junction.

Project description

Sardar Patel junction is one of the oldest junction located in Anand and which is established by Jawahar Lal Nehru back of the time. The importance of the junction as well as the unused spaces around makes it a good opportunity to bring a positive change. There are a different number of problems going on in the area like Undesigned ads banners reducing imageability, Underutilized green quadrants, Improper and undefined parking spaces, etc.

Technical information

The majority of elements comprises concrete and masonry type of solids which can easily withstand the wear & tear of a public place. A subtle play of angles with the form to achieve multipurpose function which keeps the focus on the memorial statue, it could also act as dividers for upcoming traffic flow as well. The design revolves around the people keeping the memorial statue in the center of it.
