Project description

Re- Evolved vertical forest city concept design attempts to redefine the modern high-rise office architecture by reframing public spaces in an aesthetically provocative way. Designs that propose unique structural systems, innovative ideas related to sustainability, new façade typologies, forms, and building functions were encouraged. between the growth of cities and the fragility of the natural environment: the dialectics between connection of nature and land exploitation. As Penang gets hotter each year (climate change), urban inhabitants rely more and more on mechanical cooling to stay in comfort. Therefore, a new approach is needed to create more open and breathable habitats that not only benefit occupants, but also the urban environment in the future.

Neighborhoods in the Sky
Re- Evolved vertical forest city incorporating a variety of office types and scales. In addition, outdoor green areas in the form of sky terraces, green podium decking and individual terraces form an important element of the design. Re- Evolved vertical forest city concept is interpreted on the tower in three scales; the “nature", the “neighborhood” and the “office”.
