Project idea

A community centre is a place that is specially provided for the people, groups, and organizations in a particular area, where they can go in order to meet one another and do things. Tempat Catuk Semai (Semai Community Centre) is a place that they accommodate unstructured social interactions among different age groups,
backgrounds, races, religions and provide space to offer more structured activities. By providing opportunities for the community to participate in recreational and cultural activities as well as get to know the Semai community more closely. This center helps the Semai community develop their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive abilities and to experience achievement, fun, friendship, and recognition.

Project description

Intention
- To build a tropical architecture through the adaptation of sustainable, passive design.
- To create an iconic structure that represents the uniqueness of Semai culture

Objective
- Cultivate a sense of belonging and not being marginized

Technical information

Using local material such as bamboo, wood and 'bertam'.
