Project idea

The designated renovation project is located in the inner courtyard surrounded by four faculties of the University of science and technology of Bratislava. The main goal is to reconstruct the existing buildings of the inner courtyard and design a new multi-functional student activity center.
Through design means, the traffic flow line of the inner courtyard is reconstructed, and the external traffic flow line blocked by the original building system is introduced into the inner courtyard, which is different from the external traffic of the building system.
At the same time, the newly built student activity center is regarded as a vertical transportation core system, which combines the four college buildings organically with capillary like dendritic flow line, organized multiple groups of hanging verandahs and cross floor outdoor escalators, so as to deepen the communication and cooperation of various disciplines and promote the comprehensive exchange of ideas. At the same time, a large area of private, semi private, semi public and public spaces are planned in the scheme to solve the problem of insufficient space in the original system of public buildings.
The steel structure concrete frame structure is adopted in the structural system, which has the advantage of being able to adapt to the construction index with large span, and at the same time, fewer columns and structures can also avoid damaging the original building style to the greatest extent.

Project description

In terms of function, there are clear streamline starting and ending points for professional study, scientific research, entertainment and catering. Through the arrangement of column network and various combination forms of partition walls, the requirements of different functions on lighting orientation, length width ratio and area size are met.
The space is used in the standard floor, a non index mixed space with complex functions, including two floors and four floors, It can maximize the utilization of space by using management means such as scheduled demolition and replacement, solve the problem of using area, and play a great role in building energy saving and reducing energy consumption.

The four storey space is mainly oriented by sightseeing and leisure, with function arrangement, innovation and entrepreneurship center, sports and entertainment area and ancillary functions, and rest room, including green energy-saving concept of roof greening and corridor greening

As the core area of the whole design, the three-layer space has complex and diverse functions, dense transportation network, and the main function layout is innovative interdisciplinary research center, various subject laboratories, equipment rooms, rest rooms and symmetrical restaurants

The streamline of the quiet area on the second floor is relatively designed as an inner ring. Its main functions are all kinds of administrative offices, learning places, reception rooms and conference halls. All kinds of functions can be flexibly adapted according to the column grid axis. The equipment room is equipped with a small dining bar.

On the first floor, the column network is overhead, and there is an open patio over the underground space, which belongs to the traffic core. The equipment lift platform is set up, leading to the warehouse and heavy machinery laboratory on the first floor
