Project idea

The main idea for the design of the conference room of the Silesian University of Technology was to create a multifunctional interior that would suit the changing needs of users. The interior refers to the campus of the Silesian University of Technology (an interactive model of the campus was designed on the ceiling in the city grid of Gliwice). In addition, the leitmotif of the interior is nature.

Project description

The space combines the functions of a conference room and a training room. The conference room, with a large table and a TV set, allows all meeting participants to interact. Thanks to the sliding wooden walls, the large room is divided into three smaller ones, creating three independent work spaces. The whole thing is equipped with closed and open storage spaces. The built-up part provides a large capacity, and the open one, often decorated with reindeer moss, completes the interior. Along the longer wall, cabinets alternate with seats built into the wall, which can be used for recreation, but also to increase the number of seats during the conference. The project is crowned with a suspended ceiling with an illuminated model of the campus of the Silesian University of Technology inscribed in the grid of the city of Gliwice.

Technical information

The following materials were used in the project: polished concrete, white ash wood and reindeer moss.
