Green Modular is a project which the main goal was create a living space that will give everyone access to nature with a unique view. The main idea was to use the slope and flood plain obstacle as an asset to the project. The wetland with a slope was flooded with water, which creates an attractive space between the designed buildings.
The buildings consist of repeatable residential modules that create a green terrace layout. The floors descend gradually towards the water. As a result, each resident has their own green terrace overlooking the water.
Multi-family housing project is located in polish city Bytom.
The project consists of gallery houses. The outer galleries, which are the main communication, consist of racks covered with ivy. Thanks to this, the buildings fit more into the surroundings.
A modular building is made up of five repeatable types of apartment modules. Each apartment has access to a private green terrace. The buildings are always facing each other with their terraces.
A green common space has been designed between the main buildings, crowned with wide stairs going down to the water. The stairs create space to spend time by the water. Apart from the aesthetics, the water space has a recreational function.
The main structure rests on load-bearing walls. The gallery of buildings consists of a metal frame, which is a translucent wall covered with ivy. The roof and terraces are covered with grass.
