The aim of the project was to create land development in post-industrial areas in Gdańsk. The study area is located in “Przeróbka”, which is characterized by a rich history of rail and port. The area is located between the currently active port and residential areas, which makes this place a buffer zone.
The project was divided into four stages. First, a thorough analysis of the study area and its surroundings was carried out, which allowed for the creation of valorization. Then, when creating the model, the main divisions of the area were searched for. This allowed for the creation of a functional and spatial program. The last stage was the development of a part of the area, taking into account the surface, greenery and pro-ecological aspects.
The most important place of the area is the so-called Gdańsk Sidetrack (pol. Bocznica Gdańska), which offers a wide range of catering services in adapted sea containers. It is possible to rent a table in a container suspended on the crane.
The project provides for pro-ecological solutions that are adequate to the current climate changes. These include activities such as the introduction of water-permeable surfaces, the use of TreeTank irrigation systems, or the planting of honey plants.
