The brief was to position two prefabricated steel dome structures alongside a main building and parking facilities on a sloping 17.5 perch site to provide a glamping experience.
The layout is a series of decks positioned along the slope, connected by a steel mesh staircase, which acts as a spine. The main building is conceived as a simple yet elegant black box, that sits gently by the road. This structure houses an open dining, a kitchen, a powder room, and a caretaker quarters.
Steel structure, timber decking, GI sheet cladding, and the gabion wall are all in response to the underlying design motive, maximum impact with minimum disturbance. The result is a humble architecture that respects the context and allows the users to dwell in quietly.
