Project idea

The construction of a leisure center on the shore of Litke Bay will create a new significant object for the city, attracting city residents and tourists, due to which it will disband the cluster and distribute the flow of people more evenly in the eastern part of Kotlin Island and improve the economic condition of the city of Kronstadt.

Project description

The creation of a leisure center – first of all, the creation of a new point of attraction on the island of Kotlin
The building of the leisure center additionally performs an aesthetic function, attracting attention from the forts and on the way to the city itself from the ring Road. The facades of the object do not stand out from the natural context, gently reflecting the water surface and visually merging with it, a large area of glazing and platforms at different angles above the ground allow you to get magnificent view openings with a view of the forts and use the available area as much as possible and minimally change the already existing landscape.
The design object is divided into buildings with different functional content :
1. An art workshop, which is an open space zoned with translucent partitions and sanitary units. 2. A multifunctional auditorium, with a number of 314 seats, which are located on all four sides, relative to the retractable stage, the building is also equipped with media libraries, dance workshops, changing rooms, plumbing units, recreation areas and an exhibition hall. The first floor of this building contains a cafe and rooms designed to serve the stage, as well as the rooms of the entrance group.
3. It has a sports function, namely, it contains a basketball field that can be transformed into a volleyball field, bleachers, locker rooms, plumbing units and rooms of the entrance group.
The buildings are connected by a one-piece glass atrium with a coworking combined with a winter garden.

Technical information

In the project, when designing small - area rooms separated from direct sunlight, girderless monolithic reinforced concrete floors , solid slabs that rest on columns or walls and are located at a distance of six to nine meters from each other are used. The thickness of the plate is taken by calculation and varies within 120-250 mm. Using these reinforced concrete floors, which are supported by columns, helps to achieve a wide variety of space-planning solutions. Also, in the open spaces of the complex, which have large spans, caisson-type ceilings are used, prefabricated-monolithic ribbed. This type of overlap is economical, since it requires less material for manufacturing, is architecturally expressive, increases the load-bearing capacity, and provides a freer layout.
Materials used :
-Plaster;
- Concrete;
- Glued timber;
- Smart glass, Jumbo
- LED panels.
Smart glass is used in the project to control the insolation in the bow parts of the building facing the water. This technique allows you to use the space as efficiently as possible for different purposes.
