The DEIRA: Design Incubation Centre provides space for artisans that are interested in investigating and developing craft based businesses. After analyzing the precedent and context conditions, the designing process started for an infill project, Incubator. The “incubator” is a business model that facilitates novel ideas relative to modes of production, product & craft generation. It contains offices, meeting rooms, exhibition spaces, retail, and working spaces.
The project is divided into two buildings, a high rise building and a low rise one, that are connected with a landscape path. The high rise building's lower floors are public and as we go up it gets semi-public and lastly private. While the low rise building, which is two floors high is totally public with a green roof. It accommodates a library and research areas etc.
