The idea was to create a university with as less foot print as possible and to create an environment that is similar to what a student of a traditional university has; that being that the indoor/outdoor relationship be strongly maintained.
Instead of different buildings being spread on the land, they are stacked on top of each other in a staggered manner. That way, green outdoor spaces for intermediate floors was created on roofs of other spaces. By the way of subtracting and staggering and by having an open courtyard, all floors and all spaces have access to green areas and natural ventilation. That way, students will get to experience getting inside and going outside building like how they would in a horizontal university.
For this project, we were to choose our site in any part of the country. The project seemed to be fitting to cities that don't have a university, and that has access to water-bodies, textile production and archaeological sites, as for faculties included in university.
The structure used for the building is steel trusses. The building followed some guidelines and used some techniques to be environmentally friendly and pleasant to students (details in boards).
