The project consists of three towers, each distinct in function but
connected in materiality and character. The terracing of each tower pays
homage to the architectural language of stepping back present within
Detroit’s early skyscrapers. These terraces also create spaces on which
people may rest, work, play and live.
At the ground level, a bridge links all three towers to the broader city,
allowing people to move from Downtown to the waterfront, while
traversing through the Terracing Trio.
The presence of an outdoor theatre, dining terraces, galleries, a museum,
and multiple other functions, all aim to activate the site and to revive the
hustle and bustle of street life that once characterised life in Detroit.
