Project idea

In the 21st century, the concept of sustainability has become a subject of interest to many people. It is also the main theme of my project.

In 2020, we encountered a pandemic process that changed the order of the whole world, and its impact continues. So how can we realize ourselves in this pandemic conditions?

For me, the concept of sustainability means a challenge in the new world. We may not need to meet the requirements of Maslow's Pyramid for self-actualization.

The aim of this project is to create a structure where various people living in the region can do sports, challenge and feel free without any obstacles.

Project description

The project concept was created based on the sustainability of sports. There are three main titles; Social sustainability, Environmental sustainability and Economic sustainability. When we intersect them with each other, it was desired to create a Viable , Bearable and Equitable project.

It was aimed to be a green building to be viable, and the importance of carbon footprint was emphasized by using green roof systems.

A recycling center was created to make it bearable and it was aimed to make sports free with the income to be obtained from it.

In order to be equitable, it was aimed to eliminate the requirements for sports and that this place belongs to everyone. 21st century by breaking Maslow's pyramid. It was also pointed out that people do not need certain classes of needs in order to realize themselves.

Technical information

The project area is approximately 20 thousand square meters. The construction area is 5 thousand square meters. There is an elevation difference of 5 meters between the project area and the adjacent main road. By turning this level difference into an advantage, common areas have been created to prevent noise and reduce the sharpness of the road. Sports fields were created by using green roof systems under these public spaces. The pyramid in the middle is a 50-meter equilateral triangle, but since it is broken, its maximum height is 25 meters. The floor height of the swimming pool and basketball hall is 7 meters. The floor height of the other sections is 4 meters.
