Malesice-Hostivar Industrial Zone is one of the largest industrial zones in Prague. With coming of 4th industrial revolution a traditional view on energy supplies and goods production has to be changed. The project looks for a collaborative environment between technology firms and colleges, creating a compact area where scientist and employees can both work and live. The old heat plant is removed and only remarks of an industrial era in form of chimneys and shapes of office buildings will stay. A large portion of green areas is supported by a displacement of car traffic from a central plaza.
A new multipurpose city district on grounds of scaled down heat plant. Maintaining distinctive dominants - plant chimneys - the district comprises housing, retail, offices,a technology park,a swimming pool and a sports hall. Public spaces and building facades were designed. The project includes also car traffic and public transport solution.
Urban master plan of 190 000 sqm with detailed solution of a ground floor. Housing buildings are grouped in 5-storey blocks. Offices are situated in 50m high highrise cylinder-shape buildings located next to the central square. Technology park is left in the back area, directly connected to train station. All parking for residents and employees is designed to underground garages. The area takes advantages of a newly designed tram track.
