Apartment house Bubeneč is situated in a historically appreciated district of the city Prague, Czech Republic. It is located at a border of the district, where the city block gently changes into a residential area - this is reflected in the final architectural solution.
The sorroundings of Bubeneč are formed mostly of villa houses builded at the turn of 19th and 20th century which gives the place strong and formal character. The new apartment house enters this space with a modern visage however in a spirit that accepts the established standarts. Height, image, respect are the attributes that connects the project with locals.
The main supporting structure is a spreading reinforced concrete grate at the level of the ceiling of garages with 800 mm high. Formed of a girders placed on the columns of garages 300 x 300 mm and load-bearing walls with a thickness of 300 mm. One-way tensioned ceiling tiles. Internal partitions made of aquaroses. The envelope of the building is made of monolithic concrete with contact insulation.
