Project idea

The main concept of this project is an organicity that contrasts with the surroundings and flows through the entire campus and the Liberty square.

Project description

This project is focused on the campus of the faculty STU. The project aims to the reconstruction of the heavy labs building, the campus and a connection between the campus, faculty buildings and the surrounding of the faculty. In the campus yard is an amphitheater with projecting screen, cafe, modifiable exhibition areas, seating places and also some green and water elements that cool its surroundings and also participate in the operation of technical equipment of buildings faculty. Under a part of the campus is situated underground parking.

Technical information

In the middle of the campus there is a heavy laboratory building. Three original floors of the building are adjusted, it also has two added floors and a walking partially covered green roof. The building extension and the laboratory are unified by the facade in the form of bakelite lamellae. The building is connected with its surrounding faculties by bridges made of a steel structure that is covered with a glass. The organic shape of the laboratory roof provides partial shading to the interior. There are balconies located in the holes of the structure. The roof consists of a self-supporting steel structure and a breathable partially transparent foil.
