In today’s world, our cities are emerging from many poles focused on creativity and linked to a socio-cultural policy. Having the rich historical background of a city like Tyre, a new project emerges on the coastline marking it as the citygate of Southern Lebanon .
. A transitional space where one travels through time
. An interactive space and a platform for festivities
. A city generator for new beginnings and opportunities
Citygate of Tyre sits on a strategic site in Tyre's coastline main entrance where it mirrors the image of the region by showcasing a plethora of cultural and social diversities. The project reflects the ever-changing layers of the city's historical and contemporary faces. It highlights the importance of the relationship between the city and its inhabitants with the sea through the national maritime museum and the national library. Furthermore, the project feeds on its city generator that accelerates the economic growth of the region with its Startup company. Finally, it supplies the city with an urban platform, a place of self expression to the entire society and an interactive space for festivals.
