Cieľom ateliéru v tomto semestri bolo si osvojiť základy navrhovania a trošku popustiť uzdu fantázií pri práci na jednotlivých úlohách.
V prvej časti ateliéru som sa zaoberala mojim domovom. Miestom, ktoré mi je tak dôverne známe, že ani nepotrebujem zrak na to, aby som sa v danom priestore orientovala. A presne tak som si predstavovala domov, keď som bola v Česku a mala som navrhovať zmenu v mojom domove. Stačilo zatvoriť oči a obraz domova som mala priamo pred sebou. Hneď ako som tak urobila, vedela som ktorej časti domova sa chcem venovať a ktorá mi prišla problematická.
A potom prišli na rad tehly. Plné pálené celkom ťažké tehly, z ktorých som si mala vyskladať kompozície. Celkom jednoduché zadanie mi avšak umožnilo sa pozrieť na veci inak. Tehly padali pod svojou vlastnou váhou a milovala som ten pokoj pri tom ako som ich skladala. Bolo to ako keď sa pozeráte na pokojnú hladinu rieky, ktorá plynie. A jedinou vašou úlohou je, sa len prizerať na to, aké rôzne obrazce a vlny môže vytvoriť pod vplyvom kameňov, ktoré sú na dne rieky. Cítila som voľnosť a bolo iba na mne ako túto úlohu zoberiem do vlastných rúk.
Druhá časť ateliéru sa zaoberala návrhom objektu, alebo skôr niekoľkých na tému adície a subtrakcie. Táto úloha ma naučila opäť niečo iné. Ako inšpiráciu som si vybrala rastlinu Monstera adasonii, ktorá ma fascinuje. Pri návrhu objektov som sa snažila zachytiť, ako sa rastlina chová a ako na mňa pôsobí. Spôsob akým rastie, vyvíja sa od zárodku postupne až k veľkej rastline. A všeobecne to ako žije - takým jej typickým spôsobom života. Výsledkom je objekt adície, ktorý má predstavovať konštrukciu zasadenú do prírody, má s ňou byť v harmónií a má ľudí naučiť, že príroda je krásna každý jeden deň v roku...
Pri návrhu subtrakcie bola moja voľba jasná. Rozhodla som sa opäť vychádzať z Monstery, aby som si celý koncept nerozbila niečím ďalším. Tentokrát som sa snažila pozrieť na rastlinu inak, z iného uhla. Zamerala som sa predovšetkým na rastlinu ako celok – zloženie z jednotlivých prvkov, ktoré dokopy tvoria celok. Môj objekt sa tiež skladá z charakteristických prvkov, ktorými sú: kruh, zrezaný valec, oblúky, schody a átrium. Má predstavovať akúsi terasu, pódium alebo priestor pre kultúru a spoločenský život. Alebo sa môže stať takým objektom, akú funkciu mu pripíšete vy sami...


The aim of the studio this semester was to learn the basics of designing and to let our imaginations run wild while working on individual tasks.
In the first part of the studio, I worked on my home. A place that is so familiar to me that I don't even need my eyesight to navigate the space. And that's exactly how I imagined home when I was in the Czech Republic and I had to design a change in my home. All I had to do was close my eyes and the image of home was right in front of me. As soon as I did, I knew which part of the home I wanted to address and which part I found problematic.
And then it was the bricks' turn. Full baked quite heavy bricks, which I had to make compositions out of. Quite a simple assignment, but it allowed me to look at things differently. The bricks were falling under their own weight and I loved the calmness of composing them. It was like looking at the calm surface of a river flowing by. And your only job is to just look at what different patterns and waves it can create under the influence of the stones that are at the bottom of the river. I felt free and it was up to me to take this task into my own hands.
The second part of the studio dealt with the design of an object, or rather several on the theme of addition and subtraction. This assignment taught me something different again. I chose the plant Monstera adasonii as inspiration, which fascinates me. When designing objects I tried to capture how the plant behaves and how it affects me. The way it grows, evolving from an embryo gradually to a large plant. And in general how it lives - in such a typical way of its life. The result is an object of addition, which is supposed to be a construction set in nature, to be in harmony with it, and to teach people that nature is beautiful every single day of the year...
When designing the subtraction, my choice was clear. I decided to base it on Monstera again, so I wouldn't break the whole concept with something else. This time I tried to look at the plant differently, from a different angle. I focused primarily on the plant as a whole - the composition of the individual elements that together make up the whole. My object also consists of characteristic elements, which are: a circle, a truncated cylinder, arches, stairs and an atrium. It is meant to represent a kind of terrace, a stage or a space for culture and social life. Or it can become whatever function you give it...
