The aim of the architectural study is to solve the reconversion of the former building of the Natural Science
Faculty of Palacký University in Olomouc - Hejčín, along with constantly asking questions
and exploring the relationship of the building to its surroundings.

This building has undergone several uses in the past - either as a school or
as a police headquarters. Today, the building is a thorn in the side of more than just the locals,
but also the city administration and its fate is unclear. The original intention was to build on the adjacent
on the adjacent land, but this plan was abandoned.
The intention of the proposal is to show the potential of this type of building - currently unused,
neglected but still functional and high quality buildings. The proposal shows the uniqueness of
of the building, its integrity in the given locality - Hejčín, points to the importance of the specific
spatial identity. Our intention was to find alternatives for the use of the building's space so,
to primarily support the collective spirit of the locality and its citizens. We looked for different
variants of spatial relations and their possible variations, as well as variations of the use of these

Cieľom architektonickej štúdie je riešenie rekonverzie objektu bývalej budovy Prírodovedeckej
fakulty Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci - Hejčíne spolu s neustálym kladením si otázok
a skúmaním vzťahov stavby k jej okoliu.

Tento objekt v minulosti prešiel viacerými spôsobmi užívania - či už ako škola alebo
ako sídlo policajných jednotiek. V súčasnosti je budova tŕňom v oku nie len miestnym,
ale aj správe mesta a jej osud nie je jasný. Pôvodný zámer bol vybudovať na priľahlých
pozemkoch univerzitný kapmus, z tohoto zámeru sa však upustilo.
Zámerom návrhu je ukázať potenciál aj takéhoto typu stavieb - v súčasnosti nevyužívaných,
zanedbaných no stále funkčných a kvalitných objektov. Návrh poukazuje na jedinečnosť
objektu, jeho integritu v danej lokalite - Hejčíne, poukazuje na dôležitosť špecifickej
priestorovej identity. Našim zámerom bolo nájsť alternatívy využitia priestorov budovy tak,
aby v prvom rade podporili kolektívneho ducha lokality a jej občanov. Hľadali sme rôzne
varianty priestorových vzťahov a ich možnej obmeny, rovnako ako aj obmeny užívania týchto
priestorov. Od samotného začiatku sme verili, že identifikáciou občanov so stavbou
dosiahneme jej prijatie a začlenenie do štruktúry predmestia, akoby tam patrila
už od nepamäti. Ďalším zámerom bolo spojiť ľudí s podobným príbehom či hodnotami
a pomocou bývania so zdieľanými a poloverejnými priestormi vo vnútri budovy napomôcť
k začleneniu do kolektívu. Budova sa stáva mestom v meste, diverzita priestorov v jej
vnútri vytvára podmienky k ich individuálnemu užívaniu či špecifickým potrebám,
ako napríklad doplnenie chýbajúcich služieb do danej lokality alebo kultúrne vyžitie
občanov. Polyfunkcia od bývania až po komerčné využitie má potenciál adaptovať sa na budúce
využitie priľahlých pozemkov v centre mestskej časti Hejčína a byť jeho živou súčasťou.
