Project idea

Vycházím z myšlenky, že řeka je součástí města a pomáhá ho spoluutvářet. Vltava se zde kdysi větvila do několika bočních ramen, na což navazuji ve svém návrhu. Vytvářím určité meandry, zelené zálivy, které se postupně směrem ke Stromovce zvětšují. Mezi těmito plochami jsou jasně vymezené nové bloky zástavby. Těmito bloky se snažím přenést charakter města do této oblasti. Ale jejich pojetí je jiné než u Engelova návrhu regulace Dejvic. Navrhované bloky jsou rozvolněnější, nejsou tolik sevřené, ale jsou vymezené v rozích a tím i jasně čitelné. Jednotlivé domy jsou pak orientovány k vodní ploše a do zeleně. Budovy v první linii mají mezi sebou mezeru, kterou pak využívají k výhledy domy v druhé linii. Ty jsou navíc o jedno podlaží vyšší. Dalším prvkem utvářejícím kompozici jsou dvě významné osy pro pěší, vždy ukončené nějakým prvkem (dominantou, přírodní památkou Pecka, vodním prvkem). V návrhu také navazuji na Engelův zelený pás a ten prodlužuji k Vltavě. Důležitou součástí návrhu je také pěší prostupnost územím, proto navrhuji nové lávky.


I come from the idea that the river is part of the city and helps to co-create it. The Vltava was once branched into several lateral arms, which I follow in my proposal. I create some meanders, green bays that are gradually increasing towards Stromovka. Between these areas are clearly defined new building blocks. With these blocks I try to transfer the character of the city to this area. But their concept is different from Engel's Dejvice regulation. The proposed blocks are more open, they are not as tight, but are defined at the corners and thus clearly legible. The individual houses are then oriented towards the water and greenery. Buildings in the first line have a gap between them, which they then use to see houses on the second line. They are one storey higher. Another important component of the composition is two important pedestrian axes, always completed by some element (dominant, natural monument of Pecka, water element). In the design I follow the Engel green belt and extend to the Vltava River. An important part of the proposal is also the infiltration of the territory, so I propose new footbridges.

Project description

Zadání: Vytvoření architektonicko-urbanistické studie s důrazem na řešení využití nevhodně využívané lokality Bubenečského nábřeží v intravilánu města. Tvůrčí práce v této lokalitě spočívá v návrhu širšího souboru objektů a vyřešení návaznosti navrhovaných prostorů na existující urbanistickou strukturu města. Širší vztahy: V bezprostřední blízkosti území se nachází sportovní areál, jehož součástí jsou sportoviště tenisového klubu Sparta a Ministerstva vnitra. Řešená lokalita je plavebním kanálem oddělena od Ústřední čistírny odpadních vod a čerstvě vybudované nové vodní linky, která postupně přebírá funkci ČOV pro velkou část Prahy a která je umístěná v podzemí, takže její střešní konstrukce je porostlá zelení a bude využívána jako parkový prostor navazující na zeleň Císařského ostrova. Z řešeného prostoru je krásný výhled na prvorepublikovou funkcionalistickou kolonii, nazývanou Osada Baba. Výškovou dominantu blízkého okolí tvoří hotel International. Jako klad východního okraje území hodnotím výhled na barokní zámek Troja. V okolí zámku se pak nacházejí vinice, Botanická zahrada, ZOO Praha a samotná zástavba MČ Praha - Troja. Dalším výrazným plusem je přítomnost Královské obory Stromovka v sousedství se sportovním areálem. Řešené území je velmi dobře dopravně dostupné z areálu vysokých škol v Dejvicích. Současný stav: Okolí Papírenské ulice a Bubenečského nábřeží je místo s historickou i přírodní hodnotou. Kdysi se tady do nivy rozlévala řeka, ale ta v 19.století ustoupila průmyslu. Dnes je toto území spíše periferií. Dalo by se označit za neprostupný ostrov oddělený železnicí a Vltavou. Toto území s několika průmyslovými halami, historickou čistírnou odpadních vod a kolonií dělnických domků je hodně fragmentováno a veřejná prostranství neodpovídají potenciálu místa. V blízkosti se nachází důležitý dopravní uzel Podbaba, lehko se dá dostat i do Stromovky, která slouží k rekreaci a oddychu zdejších obyvatel. Rozhodl jsem se, že kromě historické ČOV (která je národní kulturní památkou) zachovám i halu s historizující fasádou naproti zmíněné památky. Stejně jako rezidenční projekt zpracovaný na východní část území revitalizuji objekty bývalých papíren. U severozápadního vstupu do území se nachází dopravní uzel Podbaba, v němž se střetává několik dopravních prostředků, ať už se jedná o železnici (vlaková stanice Praha - Podbaba) či tramvaje a autobusy městské hromadné dopravy (zastávka Nádraží Podbaba). Funkční využití: Nejblíže k dopravnímu uzlu Podbaba jsem umístil “intenzivnější” bydlení s malometrážními byty. Tento prostor je oddělen parkem od bloku s klidnější rezidenční zástavbou a většími byty. V této části území je umístěno občanské vybavení v podobě obchodního centra a sportovní haly. Další blok se stejným rezidenčním využitím je na východě území. Tyto bloky jsou orientovány k řece a do zeleně, přičemž jednotlivé domy jsou umístěny na platformě. V okolí historické čistírny odpadních vod vytvářím kulturní centrum celé oblasti. Směrem na východ od tohoto prostoru jsou navrženy dva velké objekty určené pro lehký průmysl, mohly by sloužit jako průmyslový inkubátor. Pro toto využití hraje velkou roli přítomnost a vynikající dopravní dostupnost vysokých škol. V bezprostřední blízkosti se již dnes vyskytuje Technologické centrum Akademie věd. Na východní hranici území jsou tenisové kurty a sportovní hala. Rekreační a oddychovou funkci přebírá nedaleká Stromovka. Zeleň: Navazuji na Engelův zelený pás, který měl propojovat Petřín se Stromovkou a prodlužuji ho směrem k Vltavě. Podél řeky se vyskytují další plochy zeleně, které spojují tento pás s třemi zelenými meandry. Zeleň řešeného území je propojena i se Stromovkou, a přes přírodní památku Pecka. V parcích se střídají plochy s hustou koncentrací stromů a plochy s rozptýlenými stromy. Stejný princip je využit i pro plochy zeleně v jednotlivých blocích. Přidanou hodnotu rezidenčního bydlení tvoří stromy, které rostou na nižší úrovni a skrze otvory v platformě se projevují svojí korunou na vyšší úrovni. Zeleň má hygienickou, estetickou a prostorotvornou funkci, doplňují a zvýrazňují pěší osy. Kvůli vizuální neatraktivnosti Ústřední ČOV na protějším břehu navrhuji ocelovou konstrukci porostlou popínavými rostlinami. Toto řešení bude zároveň sloužit jako vyhlídková trasa nad jednotlivými objekty ČOV.


Assignment: Creation of an architectural-urban study with an emphasis on the solution of the use of the inappropriately used site of the Bubeneč embankment in the urban area. The creative work in this locality lies in the design of a wider set of objects and the solution of the connection of the proposed spaces to the existing urban structure of the city. Wider relations: In the immediate vicinity of the area there is a sports complex, which includes Sparta sports club and the Ministry of the Interior. The solved site is separated from the Central Sewage Treatment Plant and newly built new water lines which gradually take over the WWTP function for a large part of Prague and which is located in the underground so that its roof structure is covered with greenery and will be used as a park space adjacent to the greenery Císařský Island. There is a beautiful view of the First-Republic Functionalist Colony, called the Baba Settlement. The international hotel is a highlight of the area. As a part of the eastern edge of the area, I take a look at the Baroque Troja Chateau. In the vicinity of the castle are the vineyards, the Botanical Garden, the Prague Zoo and the Prague - Troja district itself. Another significant addition is the presence of the Royal Stromovka in the neighborhood of the sports complex. The solved area is very well accessible from the high schools in Dejvice. Current situation: The surroundings of Papírenská Street and the Bubenečské nábřeží are a place of historical and natural value. Once there was a river flowing into the alley, but that in the 19th century has retreated to the industry. Today, this area is rather a periphery. It could be called an impenetrable island separated by rail and Vltava. This area with several industrial halls, a historic sewage treatment plant, and a colony of workers' cottages is very fragmented, and public spaces do not fit the potential of the site. Nearby there is an important transport hub Podbaba, it is easy to get to Stromovka, which serves for recreation and relaxation of the local inhabitants. I decided, apart from the historic WWTP (which is a national cultural monument), to preserve a hall with a historic facade opposite the mentioned monument. As well as a residential project processed on the eastern part of the territory, it revitalizes the buildings of former papermaking. The north-western entrance to the territory is the transport hub Podbaba, where several means of transport, whether it is railway (Prague-Podbaba train station) or trams and buses of public transport (Nádraží Podbaba stop). Functional use: I have placed "more intensive" housing with small-sized apartments closest to Podbaba. This space is separated by a park from a block with a quieter residential area and larger flats. In this part of the territory there is a civic equipment in the form of a shopping center and a sports hall. Another block with the same residential use is in the East. These blocks are oriented towards the river and into the green, with individual houses located on the platform. In the vicinity of the historic waste water treatment plant, I create a cultural center of the whole area. Facing east of this area, two large objects designed for the light industry are designed to serve as an industrial incubator. For this use, the presence and excellent accessibility of universities play a big role. In the immediate vicinity, the Technology Center of the Academy of Sciences already exists today. On the eastern border of the territory there are tennis courts and a sports hall. Recreational and relaxation features take Stromovka nearby. Greenery: I follow Engel's green belt to connect Petrin and Stromovka and extend it towards the Vltava river. Along the river there are other green areas that link this belt with three green meanders. The greenery of the area is connected with Stromovka and through the natural monument of Pecka. In parks alternate areas with dense concentration of trees and scattered trees. The same principle is used for green areas in individual blocks. The added value of residential housing consists of trees that grow at a lower level, and through holes in the platform show their crown at a higher level. Greenery has a hygienic, aesthetic and space-building function, complements and highlights pedestrian axes. Due to the visual unattractive nature of the Central Waste Water Treatment Plant on the opposite bank, I propose a steel structure with growing climbing plants. This solution will also serve as a sightseeing route over individual WWTPs.)

Technical information

Dopravní řešení: Důraz je kladen na snadný a bezpečný pohyb pěších. Jsou vytyčeny dvě hlavní osy pohybu, jedna z nich směřuje od výškové obytné dominanty a dopravního uzlu směrem do centra území, ta druhá pak z centra vychází, prochází okolo čistírny odpadních vod a směřuje na přírodní památku Pecka. Na tyto osy se nabalují další chodníky a cesty, které člověka provedou územím. Jako současný problém vidím malou návaznost území na okolní části Prahy. Proto navrhuji nové pěší propojení s oblastí Dejvic a také přes Císařský ostrov (kde vzniká nová vodní linka a probíhají úpravy k zpříjemnění prostoru ostrova) do Troje. Stávající cyklostezka vedoucí podél plavebního kanálu je zachována, rozšířena a zasazena do zeleně. Z hlediska automobilové dopravy dochází k částečnému odklonu Papírenské ulice k železnici, v těžišti území již komunikace kopíruje stávající polohu. Auta nejdou přímou cestou jako v současnosti, ale díky zahnutí trasy dojde k zpomalení a zklidnění, a to především v rezidenčním území či v prostoru kulturního centra. Tento prostor v okolí historické ČOV je řešen jako jedna plocha pro pohyb pěších i aut (podobně jako Náměstí Republiky).


Traffic Solution: Emphasis is placed on easy and safe pedestrian traffic. There are two main axes of movement, one of them from the highway residential and traffic hub towards the center of the area, the second one from the center, the passage around the sewage treatment plant and the Pecka natural monument. These pavements are packed with other pavements and paths that make people land. As a contemporary problem, I see a small connection of the territory to the surrounding parts of Prague. That is why I propose a new pedestrian connection with the area of ​​Dejvice and also via the Císařský Island (where a new water line is being built and there are adjustments to make the area of ​​the island more comfortable) to Troja. The existing cycle path along the navigation channel is preserved, extended and planted in greenery. From the point of view of automobile transport, the Papírenská Street is partially diverted to the railway, while in the center of gravity of the road, the communication is copying the existing position. Cars do not go straight ahead as they do at present, but slowing down and quieting, especially in residential areas or in the area of ​​the cultural center, will slow down. This area in the vicinity of the historical WWTP is solved as one area for pedestrians and cars (similar to Namesti Republiky). )
