Since the site is a typical inner-city block enclosed from three sides, the idea was to bring a light into the interior through an atrium. A corner made of transparent glass brings the direct sunlight into the areas where people usually take a break from work and where the contact with the exterior is desired. On the other side, direct sunlight is not desired for workstations, therefore the windows are not situated anywhere nearby. Another challenge was a fire escape that has to be located inside of a building; however, behind the front facade.
