Industrial Project 2: Meat Processing Factory

Project idea

This is a industrial project that we needed design a factory and we were required focus on the function chain in its processing and details of steel structure. However, we did'nt follow the old way of factory design with the boring and saming product buildings. We wanted to make the identity for our building so the concept idea of the facade is inspired by the images of a raw steak with white strokes and the signature red.

Project description

This industrial project required plan and design a factory that contains lots of separated buildings with diffirence functions. Our purpose is connect all builings to assurance quality of products in a closed processing. However, we put a green space ( have glass roof) in the middle which is not just detach the processing area with packing and storing area, but also make the view for visitors look from outside and the workers look from inside. We wanted to make a better space for the people work in factory, maybe in break time, they can relax in this green space, escape the auto- work in while. This space was also supported the passive ventilation. Because of tropical climate in Vietnam, almost the house in my country is long-length rectang shape. With the square plan houses, they will made the courty-yard or empty space and we use it in our project.

Technical information

We used double skin facades that be adaptable to cooler and warmer weather. It is this versatility that makes them so interesting: through minor modifications, such as opening or closing inlet or outlet fins or activationg air circulations, the behavior of the facade is changed.
