Project idea

This project is aim to change the Hanlon park and the Jones park back to natural. Both parks had been flood during 2011 and after that the whole site are being covered by grass. The idea of the project is bring a natural and interactive environment to the site.

Project description

there are 3 elements are proposed to add on the site, which is the glasshouse, the researchers space and the community hub. The glasshouse is an indoor spaces like a greenhouse designed for growing plants and trees for doing researches. The researchers space is an office area for around 7-9 researchers to do researches and finally the community hub is an open space for the researchers and also the community to have some gathering or sharing on that place.

Technical information

the glasshouse is a frame structure with the minimum height of 4 meters (as required). Connection are proposed to add between the two side in order to build connection.
Also the shape of the glasshouse can help absorbing more direct sunlight getting into the glasshouse for the plants. Refraction of the sunlight can change the orientation of the light into a vertical direction to the ground inside the greenhouse.
