Project idea

Given the diversity of the program, the project is organized in three parts (research, hosting public space) The layout of the spaces was made to meet specific functional requirements. We gave each volume a specific function.
We wanted our building to become a symbol of these sources and at the same time the visitor and the researcher to feel that he is in a scientific environment (research).
The volume is shaped curves and cupolas, chiselled to create a whole game of hollow full and empty.
A set of volumes, reliefs, depths, a treatment of materials and the choice of colors, for a homogeneous composition.
We developed the idea of a horizontal leaf that protects the landscape below with its organic form. In the architectural application of this image, it was necessary to produce the greatest possible lightness: A special static principle allows for the roof to rest in just two points. It fixes in the landscape and defines a clear and protected room. The orientation of the roof is a gesture of welcome by its curvature. The elegant amorphous geometry of the roof structure forms an obvious bridge between top and bottom, between the sky and the landscape.

Project description

1- shore line:
To retreat the implantation of the shore is the part of the land that borders the sea: it is therefore the limit zone between the mainland and the water, geographically defined.

2- spiritual journey:
Preserved routes existed in the site that were created spontaneously by the man who follows the limit of the slopes, which have become in our project of the main courses.

3- space distribution:
According to this spiritual path, we have divided our terrain, taking into account the circulation of the winds to ensure the hygiene and safety of the occupants and (so that the stumps remain intact).

4- decrease the wind speed:
Our goal is to find protective measures for the strains to remain intact and not spread in the case of contamination.
Our site is near the sea so the quantity and speed of wind flow are higher and faster compared to other places so we have trees to plant windbreaks that allows to reduce the wind speed.
Implantation:
For the development of the project proceed as follows:
The decomposition of the project into several units for aesthetic, functional and physical reasons.
The equipment is implanted with an appropriate orientation taking into consideration the wind circulation to protect the building and that the building must be well accessible, the facades are oriented towards the east and the west to minimize the solar gain

The residential blocks are located on the main road to allow:
- isolate the habitat from the equipment
- enjoy the sea view
-create walks
- separate access between habitat and equipment
- creates community spaces and ease of access

The public space is placed at the heart of our site to allow:
-create a common space between accommodation (habitat) and the project (the center)
- enjoy the view clear
- creates space for relaxation and leisure so that the researcher and his family feel alaise

 Access and parking:
  Access:
- The center has two accesses, a main access that overlooks the public road and a secondary that overlooks the public space
- the access of the habitat gives on the public space

Parking:
Two parking areas are placed next to each volume
The first is reserved for equipment and the second for housing

According to the studies made, we conclude as conclusion the following mass plan:

Circulation:
We opted for an ambulatory route to allow researchers and students to walk around, take advantage of outdoor spaces, feel free to move by creating a path well framed by rigorous standards but giving free rein to a poetic place.

Project description
Given the diversity of the program, the project is organized in three parts (research, hosting public space) The layout of the spaces was made to meet specific functional requirements. We gave each volume a specific function.
We wanted our building to become a symbol of these sources and at the same time the visitor and the researcher to feel that he is in a scientific environment (research).

The volumetric composition:
The volume is shaped curves and cupolas, chiselled to create a whole game of hollow full and empty.
A set of volumes, reliefs, depths, a treatment of materials and the choice of colors, for a homogeneous composition.
The volume has a curved roof, in order to give dynamism to the project

The facade :

The work on the facades is based on a set of withdrawal and projections of opacity and transparency, horizontality and verticality in which we sought a dynamic composition presented by the diversity of materials (glass, raw concrete ....) who draw the contemporary writing of the building. It is with the composite facades, the fake facades that we wanted to create a signal building that contains a geometric cut, The facades are designed so that they integrate with the environment. We opted for a specific treatment that gives a reflection of the place on the glass facade.

The plans :
The apartments are organized around a central structural core dedicated to the flow and vertical circulation. Each landing serves three dwellings.
This project therefore has significant development potential. At each level around the apartments, winding balconies wind. Accessible from all the rooms of the apartment, they provide the inhabitants with the feeling of living outside: going around the house, out the room to enter the living room. We do not see the neighbor below and the vis-à-vis are erased by the veil of the trellises and grids

Technical information

For the development of the project proceed as follows:
The decomposition of the project into several units for aesthetic, functional and physical reasons.
The equipment is installed with an appropriate orientation taking into consideration the wind circulation to protect the building and for the building to be well accessible, the facades are orientated towards the east and the west to minimize the solar gain

"In architecture, technique and at the service of formal innovation in architectural instrumentality".
"Some people are convinced that the architecture will be outdated and replaced by the technique. This belief does not reflect a clear vision of things. It is exactly the opposite that happens, it is only when it rises in the sphere of architecture that technology reaches its fullness "
Mies Van der Rohe
  Project construction
The construction phase occupies an important place in the projection process because it is very essential for the realization of the theoretical reflections of the project.
"We can not talk about architecture if there is no construction ..."
For this we found that it was essential to design a system of adequate structure, which will allow a freedom of development of space that will be adapted to new technologies.
Each material has its own structural potential because it suggests certain volumetric and spatial forms.

. The choice of structure
We opted for two constructive systems; the first metal frame, the use of this system allowed us to meet both constructive and functional requirements and that in the research parts.
Steel is a material that is highly resistant to traction and compression.
The second system is a simple structure (post, beam) reinforced concrete in the rest of the buildings.
Parking Constructed from a reinforced concrete base, the roof has a double-curved welded steel plate frame and a steel cable frame that crisscross below.
The steel cables are an integral part of the structure, keeping the curved weft and supporting the translucent outer membrane.

The big works

The floors

The type of floor must be based on activity, mechanical resistance conditions, thermal and acoustic insulation and fire resistance.
From this fact we opted for a rigid floor collaborating with a thickness of 20cm.
The floor will consist of galvanized and ribbed steel sheets fixed with screws.
The walls

Will be brick walls (single and double with air gap)
Curtain walls that will aim to let the light inside, also create different atmospheres with concrete panels that break every time the continuity of visibility for the architecture that discovers walking around and giving several sequences made from shadow and light.
Fire protection

Structural materials lose some of their capacity at high temperatures 50% strength for steel and reinforced concrete up to 500 to 600 ° C.
The elements of the metal structure are more disadvantaged because of their small section, and because they heat up quickly, for this we have provided a coating with an intumescent coating, which has the effect of inflating in case of fires, and slow down the heating of the metal elements, in addition we planned to cover the posts with plasterboard, with phenolic foam inside.

Acoustic treatment

In order to obtain an acoustically comfortable environment, the possible solutions for: would be to add false ceilings to isolate impact noises
Place flooring with resilient properties, such as carpet, carpet or linoleum on cork or rubber underlayment.

Materials and colors

The white is a typological choice, to highlight the space and the light, it facilitates the reading of the full and the void, the shade and the light
Glazing in black mirror effect
