Project idea

The problem that we face today are the buildings that have been made in previous years, according to the specific function and are not responsive. most of these buildings are not that much old, but they are going to be abandoned. Therefore they are required to be renovated based on the methodology and methods that are built on the principles of sustainability.

Project description

In particular, one of the projects that today we are dealing with in Shiraz, is Azad University of Shiraz building that located in “Emtiyaz” historic house in Ghani street, which has lost its function and has been going to be abandoned. The fundamental issue in this project is that how architectural design can propose strategies and methods that, the 6 floor building would achieve functionally to a specific situation, and also make the “Emtiyaz” historic house be renovated again.

Technical information

To answer this question, context architectural approach is basis of this research. Analysis of the architectural works in the field of renovation and revitalization represents concepts such as modern technology, function changes, physical changes, the use of materials ,details and ornaments, proportion with the characteristics as key words of renovation. On the other hand, according to the contextual approach and cultural programming ,Prospects Shiraz in the upstream, vicinity site with historical context and cultural elements in the environment , good image of culture and artists can be considered tourism performance is appropriate. Therefore, based on the results of this study, it has been tried to take a step toward renovation of the “Emtiyaz” historic house by changing the identity and function in the renovation of 6 floor building.
