River of time - Pantheon of Bulgarian Revival

Project idea

River of time is multidisciplinary project - between architecture, sculpture and technology of new times - which shows the contemporary concept of pantheon architecture in our times. It is situated in Sofia, in one of the green spaces in the center, rich in historical and architectural monuments, one of which is the Nevsky Cathedral

Project description

Тhe pantheon is a space made up of 3 boards - one below and two sides. At the same time, it provides the necessary diagonal link of the park and is half-dug, which improves the sacredness of the place, blocking the city noise. On both sides of the pantheon are placed perforated bronze bas-reliefs on which the names of the Bulgarian Revival were cut. There is a film of running water on them that increases the feeling of holiness. At the top there is a glass cover, which reflects the sky during the day, where the souls of Bulgarian revivalists are. It incorporates transparent OLED displays (application-driven) to allow visitors to engage with the theme of the Bulgarian revival through their phones. In the present, they are witnesses of the past and the future.
