Dunong; also known as "Bahay Pag-asa " ("House of Hope") directly translates from the Filipino term of Knowledge. It represents the vast knowledge and wisdom that will be found in this institution. This House of Hope will serve as a public learning facility for the students who are eager to learn especially from the outskirts of the Philippines. Signifying the importance of learning, it apes the fundamental consideration for the youth which is education.
One infamous quote from our National hero is that, "ang kabataan at ang pag-asa ng bayan". The Children are the hope of our nation. The youth shall be capable to learn and continue to cultivate their talents. The desaign concept was the "Bayanihan" as it represents the ameliorating culture of us Filipinos. The togetherness of these structures signifies the relationship of the communities living in the Philippines.
The expansive Multipurpose hall centers the teaching laboratories. the expansive site and its open design with its careful planning and design, allows passive cooling and natural lighting for the primary site consideration. Moreover, there is an effective use of Polycarbonate materials on its roof and its façade advocates sustainable design. Also, the use of Bamboo and various wood materials implements the vernacular design aspect reducing carbon footprint as well as improving the Filipino Architecture.
