Project idea

The main idea of ​​the project revolves around a breakdown of mental illness in the world and stop generating lugubrious spaces totally isolated from the city, even taking away the opportunity of the community to participate in the development and treatment of patients who in many occasions simply need human contact for their recovery and integration with others.

Project description

The building will have three large pavilions that respond to different needs of the patients in different stages of the illness, all this project is developed at under ground level in a large open floor plan, where the columns and in general the structure, provides all the required spaces in the center.

Looking for illumination and ventilation, empty spaces and inner gardens are proposed along the project which at the same time are extruded to the surface, contributing to the city’s landscape.

The project responds to a natural environment and functionally is clear and orderly, the areas that patients require are articulated and well connected to each other, responding to all the needs without any plastic limitation.

Technical information

Is a project of two facets, under the ground is this specialized care center that responds to different stages of the disease, but on the surface this becomes a large public space that can be used and enjoyed by residents of the sector.

Structurally resolved by supporting walls and additionally by a system of columns and beams forming the remaining spaces.
